Since We Arrived

 

What has happened since we arrived in Mexico?

We landed in Cancun and entered a new chapter in our lives.

We are staying in a beautiful Airbnb in Chelem, Mexico right on the beach with gorgeous views.

We are also realizing that getting around here in Mexico is not as easy as we had hoped or at least we have not grasped the concept of how to get around. I did catch a ride one afternoon on a colectivo (public transportation van) but that was after having at least 8 pass me by as they were full. There are also Tuk Tuks which are basically 3 wheel motorcycle taxis which we have not yet tried. Also there is Uber and Lyft as well although we are trying not to blow all our cash at once as it's not easy, again back to transportation, to get to an ATM.

A very unexpected challenge that we faced was Angie getting covid the day after we arrived. This kept us confined and unable to seek a more permanant rental.

We have three more weeks and we will make it happen. Angie is feeling better. We will rent, beg, borrow or hire a car to get us around, We have found one place that we are hoping we can get a closer look and see if it will work for us. in the meantime we will just have to enjoy the views and the beaches that we have right in front of us. Hopefully my writing will get a little better too.
